Donna, Jessica and the four cats reside in a small home in the city. Jessica's heartache over the breakdown of the marriage, plus the loss of our beloved Newfoundlands is being healed in large measure by her new best friend "Rupert" -- a neutered silver Briard. Donna has a new warm body in her bed -- a lovely black bitch, named "Elsie". Our lives are full and peaceful ~~except when Rupert is "herding" the cats through the house (which is most of the time)!
Today was an extremely difficult day for Donna and Jessica. Today, we sent our beloved "Eva" (Ch. Moonfleet's Evening Star, OFA, CERF) to the Rainbow Bridge.
"Eva" had only been back home with us for a few days, when it became apparent that she was rapidly losing the use of her rear. "Eva" was the last "Moonfleet" furry remaining after circumstances dictated that our family and breeding kennel be broken up.
was being cared for by David and Margaret Gould, until we moved into our
new home. Our sincere thanks to David and Margaret for loving "our girl"
so much, and for all the extra bikkies that "Eva" DEMANDED from David.
September 18, 2005~~MOVING DAY!!!!!!!
Donna and Jessica have moved into their new home in the city. After 6 months of work, our house is finally ready for occupancy! Donna (along with a multitude of helpers), has gutted a 60 year old house to the exterior walls, and rebuilt it, including wiring, plumbing, insulation, etc. etc. etc. There is still lots of work to do, but at least we're in, and not living out of a suitcase! Woo Hoo!
March 29, 2005
Donna closed on the purchase of her new house in the city. It could very well be the demo house for the "flip that house" television program. There is SO... much work to be done!
It will provide a safe place for both Donna and Jessica when it is finished.
March 22, 2005
I left the Base Line house today. I will live with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, until my house renovations are complete.
"Eva" ~~ 11 1/2 years has gone to live with friends David & Margaret.
January 2005 - March 2005
Since the marriage breakdown in November of 2004, Donna has been kept busy working at her job as a legal secretary; grooming and bathing dogs in preparation for shipping; shipping dogs to new homes; caring for the litter of Rodney x Nala babies and packing up the Base Line house.
There is a lot of work to be done in the house before it can be put on the market for sale.
